WINTER SWIM!!! It's on - and reminders about signing up for Lazer Tag and order pizza on Wednesday for our fundraiser
Hi everyone,
SUMMARY:
- ANNOUNCING Winter swim at The St. James, Saturdays 3-4PM, starting Oct. 2nd, ending May 21st, with some weekends off. Coaching lead by Coaches Catherine, Wallace, and Kevin. Cost is the same as last year: $300 for the first swimmer in a family, $275 for the second, and $250 for any additional swimmers. REGISTER HERE! I need a head count ASAP because demand is heavy and I'll order more lanes if necessary. However, don't delay because the number of lanes available is not unlimited, so if you wait, you could be out of luck. This program keeps your kids in the water, gets them some exercise, and allows them to progress in swimming over the winter rather than regress. More blah, blah on this below.
- Our monthly pizza night fundraiser with the Bradlick Papa John's (See this flyer for details) is TOMORROW (July 14th!). Remember, this was moved from last Wednesday due to Relay Carnival. Please plan to order pizza and make money for the pool! According to the flyer, "When you call to place your order, simply tell the order taker that you are calling for the Lincolnia Park Lazers Spirit Night and that’s it!" Please skip the cooking and raise money for LPRC and the swim team. Please note: no web orders count for us to get credit, so please order like it's 1987 by calling or going to the store!
- Our social chair, Tracy Leaman, is planning a fun social activity: Lazer Tag at noon after practice on Thursday, July 15th at Shadowland Laser Tag (and Arcade). YOU MUST RSVP (at this link here) AND PAY BEFORE JULY 15TH or your child won't be able to participate: The cost is $20/child (or laser tag participant) and will includes 2 games of laser tag, a $5 game card for the arcade, and pizza. Please RSVP here and Venmo $20/participant to Tracy Leaman @tracyleaman.
Additional Notes on Winter Swim: Remember that this is more like full Lazers practice than like Little Lazers, so a swimmer has to be able to swim multiple lengths (25 yards at TSJ) unassisted. If your swimmer was successful at swim practice this summer s/he should be fine for winter swim. If you're not sure, email myself or Kate and we can figure it out.
Thanks!
