A Note from Coach Catherine
Good Afternoon Lazers,
I wanted to express to everyone how proud I am of our team and swimmers today! We had some awesome races and did a great job!
I know that transitioning from Division Champs to a season where we have not yet won a meet has been hard but I wanted to convey that despite not winning meets we HAVE proven that we are competitive within our division. For context 3 of the teams in our division moved to 15 from lower divisions (12,13,14). For those new to the NVSL the lower you are, the more competitive the division. While these teams have won against us- our swimmers have kept the meets close in score and shown that they are worthy of the placement in division 15. I would also add that since I became the Head Coach in 2019 our team and swimmers have continued to grow and develop as amazing people and swimmers and I am honored to coach them all! 🥰
Some positives that I have noticed over the season that I believe are worth celebrating:
- Our swimmers have pushed themselves in practice and dropped time and improved their technique
- We have seen MANY swimmers become legal in technical strokes!!
- We Earned 3rd place overall at Divisional Relay Carnival
- Our swimmers have continually been recognized by other teams for their positive attitudes and sportsmanship
This upcoming Saturday we will be hosting Herndon. I truly believe that if our Lazers show up and do their best they will be able to EARN a win for the season. I would ask that all parents declare their swimmers ASAP and that all swimmers make an effort to be present- It will also be team pictures I believe.
Their are so many things to celebrate about this season and I am so so proud of each and every lazer for all their hard work, the improvements they are making and their awesome team spirit!
Best,
⚡️⚡️Coach Catherine ⚡️⚡️
