    Time trials a success!

67 swimmers participated and numerous Personal Bests attained! Several swimmers tried new strokes and did 50m for the first time. We hosted Edsall Park and they reported feeling very welcome. All these things indicate a wonderfully successful meet. Sometimes, parents and swimmers consider a disqualification (DQ) a failure. I assure you it is not. They enable both swimmers and coaches the opportunity to see the potential for new strokes and coaching tweaks that need to be made. Many experienced swimmers DQ'd yesterday reminding us all their are many little details to learn and re-learn and focus on and a team goal is to reduce the amount of DQ's received each week. Please don't let your swimmer or yourself be discouraged if they DQ. The goal is to dive in, give it your best shot, learn from your mistakes and be a great sport. To understand DQ's better, go to the Documents tab and look under the Swim Team Handbook tab for the "What Do You Mean My Kid DQ'd?" While you are there PLEASE read through the Team Handbook and the Lazers New Parent Guide. It is going to be a wonderful Lazer Year!
